A clinic, a store, and a property desk do not share a script. They do share a shape of work. Someone asks for a known next step. The agent asks the questions that business defined, reads the record that business connected, and hands over anything that needs a judgment.
The agent does not become a different product in each industry. The questions change. The records change. The rule for when a person steps in changes. Healthcare, ecommerce, and real estate below are three uses of that same shape. The industries list has more pages. This article does not turn those into results.
Key takeaways
One agent can serve more than one industry. Each industry brings its own questions and its own records.
Healthcare uses appointments, intake, and reminders. It does not use the agent as a diagnosis.
Ecommerce uses the store’s products and orders. Cash on delivery and the Shopify connection already have their own articles.
Real estate uses budget, location, and a listing. A tour is booked only from open times.
No-show rates, cart recovery, tour counts, and faster closings are not results this article is reporting.
The shape that stays the same
Every one of these conversations has the same four moves.
Hear the request and match it to a path that industry already wrote down.
Ask only the questions that path needs.
Answer from a record the business connected: a calendar, a store, or a listing.
Transfer when the answer is missing, the person is upset, or the decision is not the agent’s to make.
A greeting and a channel can be shared. A clinic’s intake form cannot be pasted onto a property inquiry. If the record is not connected, the agent says it cannot see that record.
Healthcare
A patient may want to book, move, or cancel a visit, or to send the details the clinic asked for before they arrive. The agent offers times the clinic has opened, collects the intake the clinic defined, and can send a reminder the clinic scheduled.
It stops at clinical judgment.
It does not diagnose a symptom or name a treatment.
It does not approve a refill or decide that a medicine is safe.
It does not tell someone a problem can wait.
If the caller describes something urgent, or the request is outside the paths the clinic wrote, the call goes to a person. The person should see what was already collected, including any consent the clinic required.
Ecommerce
A shopper asks whether something is in stock, where an order is, or how to finish a cart. The agent answers from the connected store: the product, that customer’s order, or the items still in the cart.
The store connection, catalog answers, and order lookups are in How an AI Agent Uses a Shopify Store. Confirming a cash-on-delivery order is in Confirm COD Orders by Voice and WhatsApp. This section does not restate either one.
What stays true across industries is the limit. A discount, a delivery date, or a return happens only when the store record allows it. A missing order is not described as on the way.
Real estate
A buyer asks about a home. The useful questions are the ones the desk already uses: what they want, where, the budget they can name, and when they want to see it. Those answers are a lead. They are not a sale.
The agent then names only listings the business actually has. The price it speaks is the price on that listing. It does not invent a loan, an EMI, or a discount.
A tour is booked the way a demo is booked. Offer open times, save the one they accept, and keep the answers with the booking. If the calendar is not connected or the time is taken, a person books it. Qualification rules are the same idea as in How AI Qualifies a Lead and Books a Demo: a missing answer is not a hot lead.
How the three stay different
Healthcare | Ecommerce | Real estate | |
|---|---|---|---|
The usual request | Book or prepare for a visit | A product, an order, or a cart | A home that fits, or a tour |
What the agent may read | Open times and the intake the clinic defined | Products, orders, and carts on the connected store | Listings and open tour times |
What it must not invent | A diagnosis, a drug decision, or “this can wait” | Stock, a delivery date, or a discount | A price, a loan, or a listing it does not have |
When a person steps in | Urgency, a clinical decision, or a complaint | A bad match, a refused return, or a complaint | A request outside the listings, or no open time |
What the conversation should record
Each industry needs an outcome the team can filter, in that industry’s words.
Healthcare: visit booked, intake collected, reminder sent, or transferred.
Ecommerce: product named, order status read, cart link sent, or transferred.
Real estate: lead qualified, listing named, tour booked, or transferred.
A conversation with no outcome is a transcript nobody will search. The record should include why a person took over.
Where a person steps in
The agent keeps the repeated path. A person takes the conversation when:
The caller is unhappy, or the request does not fit the questions.
The decision is clinical, financial, or a price the listing does not state.
The calendar, the store, or the listing lookup fails.
The person asks for a human.
The handoff includes the answers and the record already opened. The patient, the shopper, or the buyer should not have to start again.
What this is not
Using one agent in more than one industry does not, by itself, prove fewer missed visits, more recovered carts, more tours, or faster closings. Those depend on the records, the offer, and whether the person accepts the next step. Treat the agent as the same four moves with different questions, not as a measured gain for each industry.
The same limit applies to the other industries on the list. This article walks through healthcare, ecommerce, and real estate because those are the three paths spelled out here. It does not report results for banking, education, travel, or any other page.
It is also not three products. A clinic script will not answer a cart question, and a listing script will not book a clinic visit. Sharing the agent means sharing the shape. It does not mean sharing the records.
